Ahmed is the fifth RB on Chicago's 90-man roster (Sleeper depth chart, 2026-07-07), signed 2026-05-20 as a camp-depth add off a season-ending 2025 ankle injury, fighting Roschon Johnson, Brittain Brown, and UDFA Coleman Bennett for the RB3 job — a job that produced 2 carries for its holder in 2025. He fails the handcuff three-factor test on succession: Kyle Monangai is the organization's designated Swift successor, so even a Swift injury routes the touches around Ahmed. On the standalone/contingent 2×2 (rb.md §7) he is low/low — the roster-clog quadrant. For the sliver of the market tempted to stash him as a "free handcuff on a good offense": the offense qualifies (9.5 win total, RBWR rank 5), but the succession is not his, and a handcuff who'd be third in line has no contingent value.
